Faculty of Music Education - Master’s Degree

The Master’s degree in Music Education is offered in the following specializations:

Applicants must meet the following conditions to be admitted into the Master’s program:

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a minimum overall grade of Good and a Very Good grade in the area of specialization, obtained from an Egyptian university or an equivalent institution. Alternatively, applicants with a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Education meeting the same grade criteria may be considered.
For international applicants, admission requirements shall be determined by the university council based on the recommendations of the faculty council and the relevant academic departments.
Submit all required documents as specified by the university council following approval by the faculty council.

Applicants must provide the following documents:

Original Bachelor’s degree certificate, including the overall grade
Original academic transcript for five years, demonstrating a minimum of Very Good grades in major subjects
Original birth certificate along with a copy of the national ID
Certificate of good conduct
Original military service certificate (final exemption, temporary exemption, or proof of completed service)
Recent personal photograph
Certificate confirming appointment as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Music Education, Helwan University (if applicable)
All documents must be uploaded through the Ibn Al-Haytham platform. Upon acceptance, applicants are required to pay the tuition fees and submit the original documents to the postgraduate affairs office.

The program operates under a credit hour system.
A total of 36 credit hours is required to fulfill the degree requirements:
30 credit hours of coursework
6 credit hours for the thesis, which must be approved by the faculty council upon recommendation of the relevant academic department
Students must meet the language proficiency and computer skills requirements as established by the university council.
The minimum academic load per semester is 6 credit hours, with a maximum of 12 credit hours.
The duration of study ranges from a minimum of six regular semesters to a maximum of eight semesters.

To be awarded the Master’s degree, students must:

Submit four signed hard copies of the thesis, duly approved and stamped by the thesis committee, the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, and the Dean of the Faculty.
Submit two CDs containing the full thesis.
Submit one CD containing the thesis along with Arabic and English abstracts.
Submit a copy of the thesis to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, accompanied by the required CDs and the payment receipt.
