The Cultural Relations Committee at the Faculty of Music Education, Helwan University, organized and prepared the seminar in collaboration with the Austrian Cultural Center in Cairo.

This event comes within the framework of the Faculty of Music Education’s commitment to promoting and spreading musical and cultural awareness among both specialists and the general public, and contributing to enhancing societal artistic sensitivity and musical appreciation.
Target Audience:
Students of the Faculty of Music Education specializing in Guitar and Violin at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Seminar Objectives:
- To introduce the role of the guitar and violin in Austrian music
- To explore the characteristics and melodic nature of Austrian music
- To listen to selected examples of Austrian folk music
- To promote the humanistic and cultural dimensions of Austrian-Egyptian relations by addressing music students and professors

At the beginning of the seminar, Mira and Sarah Klagenfurt introduced themselves, presented the instruments practically, and shared their biographies and academic backgrounds in studying guitar and violin. The seminar was highly interactive, beginning with polyrhythm exercises with audience participation. The seminar also covered an introduction to Austrian music, focusing on the role of the guitar and violin. The presenters discussed the features of Austrian folk music and performed a popular Austrian piece as a demonstration. They then collaborated with the participating students specializing in guitar and violin to perform the same piece again in a jazz style, aiming to blend classical and jazz music.
Attendance:
The seminar was attended by a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Faculty of Music Education, particularly those specializing in Guitar and Violin.
