Music Creativity Center

About the Center

Established in 1988 under the original name Center for Free Studies (Musical Radiation), the Music Creativity Center was founded by Prof. Dr. Omayma Amin, then Dean of the Faculty. The center was created to enrich the artistic and musical sensibility of the wider community. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohsen Sayed, a former Dean, the center was renamed to better reflect contemporary artistic developments and societal changes.

Mission and Objectives

Mission

The mission of the Music Creativity Center is to promote musical culture among all segments and age groups of society. This is achieved through a wide range of training courses, including:

  •  Instrumental training in both Arab and Western music traditions
  • Vocal training in Arabic and international singing styles
  • The Center aims to prepare qualified individuals to work in cultural and community-based institutions.

Objectives

  • To teach and disseminate both Arab and international musical cultures
  • To offer instruction on playing various Western and global musical instruments.
  • To provide training in the principles and techniques of Arabic and international singing
  • To teach the basic theories and principles of both Arab and Western music
  • To promote artistic and cultural collaboration between the faculty and external institutions through specialized training programs

Specializations Offered

Courses are available in the following specializations:

Instruments:

- Guitar – Piano – Percussion (Drums, Tabla, Riq)

- Violin – Flute – Recorder – Oud – Qanun – Xylophone

Vocals:

- Eastern (Arab) Singing

- Western Singing

Enrollment Requirements

  • Two recent personal photographs
  • A copy of your national ID card
  • For children: a copy of the birth certificate and the guardian’s ID card
  • Course fee: 1,200 EGP for Egyptians / $250 for non-Egyptians
  • Course duration: Three months
